Natural Eco Wool Comforter with Organic Cotton Sateen Outer

This natural wool filled comforter is made from untreated, natural wool called Eco Wool. The growers are restricted from using chemical pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, and hormones, and they adhere to sustainability and cruelty free standards. You can read more about our EcoWool using the "latex & wool info" link at the bottom of the page. Wool is naturally fire resistant so no fire retardant chemicals are used or needed with these organic comforters. Our natural, untreated wool is certified by Oregon Tilth.

The outer of this natural wool comforter is covered in 280 thread count, 100% organic cotton sateen fabric (certified by GOTS) and tufted throughout for a soft, fluffy feel. Made in USA and packaged in pure food grade polyethylene for total purity. If you have children or pets in bed with you, our wool filled comforter with the organic cotton damask outer is a better choice because the damask material is a bit stronger than the sateen material.

This natural wool comforter is available in 3 different weights. Light, regular or heavy. Light fill is recommended for summer months. Regular fill is recommended for cooler months. You can pair the regular fill comforter with one of our organic blankets to keep you warmer in the winter. Heavy fill is only recommended for those that live in very cold temperatures.

Our wool filled comforters provide the perfect temperature-controlled sleeping environment. Wool produces warmth in winter without overheating, and—believe it or not—keeps you cooler on summer nights because of its natural moisture-wicking properties. Evaporation of moisture is our body's natural way of keeping cool. Wool helps this process along by drawing moisture from the body during sleep, absorbing it into cells, and reducing skin temperature. When you're cooler, you toss and turn less often, and sleep more soundly in a deeper REM state. Where does all that moisture go? The average sleeper gives off nearly a pint of water vapor in an eight-hour sleep period. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight without feeling damp or clammy. The cells of wool fibers are porous, so they quickly and efficiently absorb and evaporate moisture—unlike down, which actually holds moisture and can create mildew. Wool Is Hypoallergenic -- Wool is resistant to bacteria, mold, and mildew, which can trigg er allergic reactions in some people. People with chemical sensitivities can also sleep without suffering if the wool is untreated. Dust-mite allergens are the leading trigger for asthma attacks, but dust mites need moisture to survive, so they don't like wool.

Care Instructions:

The best way to care for your organic wool comforter is to expose the comforter to fresh air and sunlight. This process evaporates excess moisture from the natural fibers, and freshens the bedding by eliminating body odors. Spot Clean: Mix up a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts distilled water. Thoroughly dampen the stain with the solution, and then expose the comforter to sunlight and air until dry. If necessary, repeat until stains fade and odors dissipate. We recommend using one of our machine washable, organic duvet covers to protect your comforter.

Guaranteed to be free from manufacturer's defects for 1 yr. Warranty does not cover misuse, stains, or normal wear.
Please note: Opened bedding is not returnable unless covered under the warranty.
